Staff and pupils were invited to a visit to Bolton's Amazon warehouse and surprised with a £1,000 donation.
James Chapman, a Year Five pupil at Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School in Chorley, wrote a letter to John Boumphrey, the UK Country Manager of Amazon, and included suggestions for how Amazon can become even more sustainable.
It also included details about James’s love for the planet and his desire to see conversations about sustainability become more frequent.
The team were so impressed by James’s proactivity that they invited him to the site for a tour, and they also surprised him with a donation to his school.
John Strydom said: “I look forward to hearing about what James accomplishes in the future and encourage him, and his peers, to be curious and continue learning long into the future.”
James was overjoyed to have the tour.
He said: “I had a really fun day with John and enjoyed seeing the cool things at the fulfilment centre like the automated robots and I even got to post a parcel.”
