A number of motorists have been dealt with by the courts for breaking the speed limit on a a major road in and out of the centre of Bolton.
The A666 takes motorists from the M60 ring road through to the town.
The majority of it is subject to a 50mph limit which is monitored by average speed cameras which can capture the speed at which a driver goes between two set points.
Those who are found in breach of the limit may face financial penalties and points on their licence.
In the last three months courts have penalised three motorists for failing to adhere to this limit.
Steven Cadman drove a Yamaha southbound between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane at a speed of 57mph in September last year.
The case against the 41-year-old was proven when the case called at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in May.
Following this Cadman, from Holmes Street, Bolton, was hit with a fine of £220.
He was also ordered to pay further costs of £178.
Cadman was also given three points on his licence.
Olivia Sykes drove a BMW southbound between Bradford Street and Raikes Lane at a speed of 63mph in September last year.
The case against the 33-year-old was proved at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Following this she was fined £220 and ordered to pay further costs of £178.
Sykes, from Barry Street, Bradford, was also given three points on her licence.
Ahmad Zia drove a Land Rover in a southbound directionbetween Bradford Street and Raikes Lane at a speed of 57moh in August last year.
He admitted the offence when the case called at Tameside Magistrates Court in May.
The 53-year-old was fined £40 for the offence and ordered to pay further costs of £60.
As well as this Zia, from Brooklands Road, Manchester, was given three points on his licence.
The court took the guilty plea which he entered into account when it was determining the sentence which it would impose.
