A driver who crashed into a fence while out to get shopping in the morning was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Police said that they have arrested a driver on Pilkington Way in Radcliffe this morning (May 21) who was on the way to the shops when they crashed into a metal fence.
Officers said that the driver was 'well over the legal limit' after being out drinking the night before, issuing a warning to other road users who may think they are okay to drive.
A spokesperson for the police said: "If you've had a great night out, have a minute this morning before you pop down the shops on a Sunday - you may still be well over the legal limit, like the driver we have just locked up in Radcliffe."
The legal limit for drinking while driving is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath or 80 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
