Police raided a property to discover two kilograms of suspected cocaine.

Officers from Bolton's Challenger Organised Crime Team carried out a search of a property in Reed Close, Farnworth, today, to find what is believed to be a 'significant amount of drugs' and money.

Around £10,000 in cash was also recovered by the Challenger team.

The Challenger team is dedicated to cracking down on serious and organised crime across the borough.

And later a man was arrested at a property in Kearsley.

Police say "the successful execution of the warrant later" led to the arrest of a 58-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

The man remains in custody to await questioning by officers.

Detective Sergeant Paul Quinn, from Bolton's Challenger team, said: "This was a fantastic result for our team and is all part of our endeavour to remove dangerous and illegal substances from our streets.

"Our officers are dedicated to fighting crime and whether that's acting on intelligence to execute warrants or proactively patrolling areas, they are working flat out to keep the community safe."

Earlier this week, police staged Operation Avro in Bolton which brings which brings together resources from all 10 Greater Manchester district in a day of action to complement day-to-day policing.

Police worked closely with local partners, including Bolton Council, the day of action built on its initial impact in June 2022.

A total of 52 arrests were executed after 18 warrants were conducted throughout the day.

Arrests made varied from being on suspicion of assault, to theft and possession of a bladed article. They also included burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and cannabis cultivation. With all areas covered from Breightmet to Farnworth to Halliwell and Tonge as well as Horwich and Little Lever.

Officers from the GMP Traffic department were out on the roads of Bolton and recorded a total of 354 traffic offences with 282 of those related to speeding at two check sites throughout the day.

A total of eight vehicles were seized and six arrests made, which included, illegal tinting, drug driving and no insurance. In addition, 27 taxi licencing checks were conducted along with partner agencies.
