A Bolton charity are asking residents to help them celebrate carers week as they shine a light on the contribution of unpaid carers locally.
Bolton Carers Support provides free and confidential support to people who are looking after someone close to them.
During Carers Week, which takes place between June 5-11, it will be hosting a series of activities.
It will be a chance to find out about the services provided by Bolton Carers Support, take time out and meet new people.
Georgette Kay, Chief Officer at Bolton Carers Support said: “A caring role can sometimes build up gradually over time so often people don’t see themselves as being carers.
“We are using Carers Week to highlight the issues which affect carers every day of the year, be it navigating health and social care or the importance of carers looking after their own health and wellbeing.
“Carers are often isolated, so we want to reach out to as many carers and let them know support is available to them 24/7.”
During the week, free events will include walks, meditation sessions and a one stop shop Information Day for carers.
This day will take place between 1.30-6.30pm on Thursday June 8 in the Cloisters Suite at the Holiday Inn, Higher Bridge Street, Bolton BL1 2EW.
Places are limited so to book on an event during Carers Week, contact the helpline on 01204 363056.
Bolton Carers Support also provides a helpline, runs workshops and courses and offers welfare benefits advice for people who are struggling with the cost of living.
