Bolton's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network on the next two weeks.

Here are details of the closures:

  • M61: From 9pm on Thursday, May 18 to 5am on Friday, May 19 there will be moderate delays on the M61 northbound, junction 3 to junction 4 due to a carriageway closure for horticulture.
  • M60: From 9pm on Friday, May 19 to 5am on Saturday, May 20 there will be moderate delays on the M61 southbound, junction 5 to junction 4 due to a carriageway closure for horticulture.
  • M61: From 9pm on Saturday, May 20 to 5am on Sunday, May 21 there will be moderate delays on the M61 northbound and southbound, junction 5 to junction 4. This is for a lane closure for Horticulture.
  • M61: From 9pm on Sunday, May 21 to 6am on Monday, May 22 there will be slight delays on the M61 northbound and southbound, at junction 2. This is for four lane closures due to maintenance works.
  • M60: From 9pm on Tuesday, May 23 to 5am on Thursday, May 25 there will be moderate delays on the M61 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1. This is due to a carriageway closure for Horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
