A coronation street party at the weekend saw "new friendships blossom".
As part of the coronation weekend celebrations that took place in the borough, residents of Parkway in Daisy Hill got together to celebrate as a community.
Resident and organiser, Debra Parr, said: “All the neighbours clubbed together.
"We had a DJ/karaoke, we bought commemorative mugs for all the children, decorated bunting and had a children’s bake off competition.
“It was a wonderful community event, bringing together lots of neighbours who’d never met before and seeing new friendships blossom, especially between the children who were able to run and play on the street like the good old days due to the road closure.
“The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.
"It was such a success, the neighbours have asked if I can organise one every year.”
The remaining money raised was donated to Brighter Bunnies Pre School in Westhoughton.
