A man has been jailed after leading police on a terrifying car chase through Farnworth.
Michael Turner, 28, was sentenced to more than four years in prison after leading police on a high speed chase down Slack Fold Lane, before flipping his vehicle over.
Turner’s vehicle was spotted by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Transport Unit officers in September 2021 and he was pursued by officers from the Roads Policing Unit before abandoning the vehicle.

Officers discovered class A and B drugs in the car during a search.
He was later arrested and sentenced for dangerous driving and possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
On social media, a spokesperson for GMP Bolton South said: “Vehicle was sighted on September 23, 2021 by GMP Transport Unit officers in Farnworth and the driver made off from the patrol in which colleagues from Roads Policing followed the vehicle and the vehicle crashed a short time later on Slack Fold Lane and the driver made off.
“A search of the vehicle located Class A and B drugs.

“Following a lengthy investigation Michael Turner (31/10/1994) was identified as the driver of the vehicle and he was arrested and charged for dangerous driving and possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply.”
Turner appeared at Bolton Crown Court yesterday, Tuesday, and was sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison.
