Members of a Bolton community group held a "Big Help Out" event this week, hoping to help children in Uganda.

The Tower Trefoil, who are members of Girl Guiding, held a “Big Help Out" at its Bolton headquarters alongside a coronation afternoon tea to help youngsters in the African country.

And after the success of their events, Carol Atkinson, vice president of Lancashire Border Girl Guiding, is set to travel to Uganda with members of St James' Church in Breightmet to visit schools, hospitals, and orphanages.

Members of the Tower Trefoil have been very busy knitting and collecting items for Carol to take to Uganda.

With the trip organised to take much needed equipment including hand-knitted baby clothes and educational resources for families in need.
