A burned out building in Bolton could be at “risk of collapse” after a major fire yesterday, Sunday.
Fire crews were called out the scene on Spa Road near the centre of Bolton at around 3.30pm to find a derelict mill ablaze.
As of Tuesday morning most of the fire has been put out but a road closure remains in place on Spa Road while a fire crew is still present dealing with the remainders of the blaze.
Bolton Central crew manager Mark Berry said: “A crew is still there keeping an eye on the building because its thought that it could be at risk of collapse.”
He added: “It’s just the area around Spa Road that’s closed, it’s not 100 per cent extinguished there’s still little bits and pieces here and there and that’s why the crews are still there just taking care of that.”

At its height, six engines from Bolton, Bolton North, Farnworth and Horwich with further support from Leigh were sent to tackle the blaze over Monday.
But as of Tuesday, just one fire crew is still at the scene.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
In the event of an emergency, members of the public are advised to always call 999 as soon as it is safe to do so.
