Bolton's famous Carrs Pasties is expanding.
The company, which counts celebrities amongst it customers, is opening a new shop in the Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park in Horwich later this year.
The bakery currently has three shops in Bolton on Manchester Road, Halliwell Road and at the Market Place shopping.
This will be the first shop on a retail park, and will be the first shop the company has opened since it built the flagship store on .
Carrs Pasties will move into the EE unit which sits in the middle of the retail and leisure complex and is next to Costa Coffee, Cakeaway and Greggs.
Customers will be able to order online for click and collect and via a variety of delivery app platforms will also be available from the store including UberEats, Deliveroo, JustEat and Too Good to Go.
The shop will serve all of the Carrs Pasties products including the core range, freshly made sandwiches and salads, cakes, snacks and cold drinks.
Hot drinks will be available and will be provided from local Manchester company, Second City Coffee.
Matt Carr, director at Carrs Pasties said: “Middlebrook has been in our sights for over a decade, and not just because of the demand from our customers.
"Opening a store there represents an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Bolton Wanderers Football Club - where we are currently sponsors of the Family Stand – and the community around Horwich and the surrounding areas.
"We are a Bolton business, so opening at Middlebrook makes sense. We are really looking forward to welcoming new customers from further afield, it’s an exciting venture for us and we can’t wait to open our doors.”
Carrs Pasties has already hired a new store manager and will be recruiting new team members for the shop over the coming weeks.
The shop is set to open in summer this year.
Carrs Pasties will always be a hit with Boltonians.
And Bolton-born radio presenter Sara Cox was made up when she was gifted the delicious bakes for herself and her family.
When superstar superfan Chris Evans held a Children In Need charity event in his Surrey pub there was only one firm he wanted to cater for his celebrity guests - Carrs.
