Celebrations have been in full swing at a primary school to mark a very special anniversary.
Beaumont Primary School opened its doors on May 3, 1973 with just 17 pupils and staff and pupils could not let the school's 50th birthday pass without a party - in this case a week long celebration.
The school body - parents, governors, pupils - looked back to mark how far the school had come.
A highlight included the whole-school performing, ‘Beaumont Through the Decades’ which included singing, dancing, and acting.
Headteacher Stacey Postle said:
“At the school we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters the growth and development of every child, and the week's celebrations were a reaffirmation of the school's values.”
Chair of the Governors at the school Susan Leach has been associated with the school for over 30 years and said: “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet up with old colleagues, at the reunion but my highlight was performance the children gave in school on as it was an amazing showcase of the talent we have in school.”
A reunion evening was also held for staff and governors, both past and present, to reminisce about their time at the school.
Dale Sumner said: “It has been a highlight of my career of 21 years at school.
“The children shone during the performance, and I am so proud of everything we achieve as a school.”
Visitors had the opportunity to take a tour of the school, including the recently opened friendship garden, in memory of the previous Chair of Governors Sabiha Makkan.
The garden is also dedicated to the school's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
Eshana Suresh aged 11, said: “I have enjoyed the whole week, but my favourite part was taking photographs of the guests at the reunion and taking them on the tour of our brilliant school”.
Zain Ali aged 11, said: “The performance by the whole school was emotional because they are my last few weeks at school, and I am the last of my siblings to attend here.
“We as a family will never forget what joy Beaumont gave us”.
Parents generously donated balloons, cakes, and their time to make the week a special one.
Children participated in various activities, including competitions, a raffle to win a Beaumont 50th Bear, and a treasure hunt on the Ladybridge estate.
A commemorative badge was designed to mark the occasion.
