While most 18-years-olds are still contemplating their future, Bethany Shum has opened her own business.
The Globe at Egerton offers brunch and lunches and is already proving a huge hit in the village since opening just a matter of weeks ago.
Based at 273 Blackburn Road, the eaterie serves up all day breakfasts as well as lunches and has specials on the menu.
Bethany is following in her family's footstops with her parents working in the hospitality industry and she said she wanted to work for herself in her own place.
Taking the plunge last month, Bethany said the response has already been great.

She said: “I think it is pretty impressive to be fair to open my own eatery at 18, I’m shocked at the same time because I couldn’t believe that I had done it, but I am enjoying it.
“Hospitality has always been a passion of mine, I enjoy making people happy and meeting so many new friendly faces.
“I’ve grown up in a family with a hospitality background, so I’ve had a lot of support from my parents to help me with this new venture.
“I enjoy what I do and seeing all these friendly faces, so I thought why not start my own and do a bit more and open up my own place instead of working for someone else.
“The local support in Egerton has been fantastic.
“We are getting a lot of repeat customers.
“The response has been really good, everyone wanted to know what this new place was and I did a little video about it on social media, people have been coming in and saying well done to me.
“But yes, everyone has been loving the food and it is all quite Instagrammable so yes, it’s been really good so far.
“The Globe name is an Iconic name for the area, being a pub from the area where everyone visited.
“We try to create a warm and cosy atmosphere for all our customers to feel welcome and relaxed whether they come with friends or alone.”
The Globe at Egerton is open Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 3pm.
