A potholed-ridden road has been repaired.
Cllr Samantha Connor says that potholes have been highlighted as an issue on Darwen Road multiple times, especially with it being a major road in Bromley Cross.
She says that there was a particularly bad pothole at a Zebra crossing on the road, which was reported immediately, as well as Higher Ridings having a deep pothole that has been filled in.
Cllr Connor said: “It’s excellent the work has been done because it’s been highlighted many times by local residents.

“We look at which roads are most in need and I am constantly emailing Highways and the Street care team about potholes in Bromley Cross and Egerton because they are really bad here and across the borough.
“The teams are doing amazing jobs and they work so hard to avoid as much chaos on the roads during the roadworks.”
Cllr Connor explained that whilst the road does not look ‘perfect’ and the road has not had full resurfacing work carried out, potholes that were considered a danger have now been filled in.
She said: “The road doesn’t look perfect.
“If the potholes aren’t deep enough it won’t be filled.
“Any potholes that are deemed hazardous to traffic or pedestrians will be filled and I report the particularly bad ones.
“Some potholes were previously done, but now they have all been finished on April 25 (Tuesday).”
Due to it being a major road, Cllr Connor says that there was a normal amount of wear and tear due to it being so well used.
She added: “There is a normal amount of wear and tear due to it being a major road and being so well used, and it needs to be well maintained to a high standard.”
Another road in Bromley Cross – Arnold Road – is also due to be resurfaced on May 20, which come from a £13m pot allocated to repair roads and pavements, equally shared across the wards.
