A heritage and celebration day is to be held next weekend in honour of King Charles III’s Coronation.
Reverend Hannah Lane has worked with church members at Christ Church Walmsley and Walmsley School to create a heritage and celebration day.
A church open day will be held at Christ Church on Friday, May 5 from 10am to 4pm.
The day will be filled with church heritage displays; a coronation memorabilia display; artwork from local playgroup and school children; children's activities for those not in school; and flower displays.
There will also be an afternoon concert performed by some school children from 2.30pm-3pm.
And people can also expect plenty of refreshments including lots of cake.
It will conclude with a prayer service for the King and Queen Consort at 4pm.
Then on Sunday, May 7 there will be a celebration parade service at the church, as well as a sold-out afternoon tea event taking place at St Andrews Church.
