Work is progressing at Farnworth Leisure Centre as it is set to open its doors in just under 10 days.
Pictures have been shared on social media of the Brackley Street facility, showing its new group exercise studio, the upgraded gym and extended gym area.
The improvement works are part of its exciting redevelopment and with the opening date approaching staff thought it would be a good time to show some progress pictures.
The extended gym area will include a range of resistance and cardiovascular Life Fitness equipment, and the group exercise studio will be home to workout classes.
The official opening day is Monday, May 1, and the teams are working hard to ensure the site is primed and ready to go.
Work at the site has been ongoing since September last year by local construction firm Seddon.
Funded by the government’s Future High Streets Fund, the completed work will see an extended fitness suite, a dance studio and new windows added to the existing facility.
A reconfigured car park will also see additional spaces created by the removal of a disused multi-use games area.
The leisure centre currently has an offer on for members to enjoy.
If residents sign up in April they won’t have to pay anything until June.
Memberships will be valid at any Bolton Community Leisure Trust leisure centre before the gym reopening on May 1.
After that, the membership will be active at both Farnworth Leisure Centre and Leverhulme Community Leisure Centre.
