A motorcyclist has died after a crash last night.
Emergency services ere called to Rutland Road, Tyldesley at 10.50pm.
Police say they believe the man lost control over the bike before crashing into a brick gate post of a residential address.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the rider, a 29-year-old man, sadly died at the scene.
"The family of the rider are being supported by specialist officers.
"Officers are now appealing for witnesses - or anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage - to please get in touch.
"You can do so by calling GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 4149 of 18/04/2023. A report can also be made via GMP's website: www.gmp.police.uk
"Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
