A street in Bolton has been left without running water for hours after an “issue” caused by a “third party".
Residents on Regent Road, Lostock, reported on Monday afternoon that they had been having to cope without running water since around midday.
They reported the issue to water company United Utilities who say that they have deployed officials who are working hard to resolve the issue.
A United Utilities spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an issue in the area this afternoon that has been caused by a third party.
“We’re in the process of rectifying it to restore supplies to customers.
“We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
According to residents, houses around Regent Road and further afield within the BL6 postcode towards the western side of the borough.
United Utilities hope to restore water supplies to people in the area as soon as possible.
As yet the “third party” which appears to have caused the loss of water has yet to be identified.
The company regularly posts reports of ongoing issues with the water supply all across the North West on its website and deploys engineers to the scene when residents have reported problems.
