A well-loved café is set to close its doors "for good" this week due to the impact of the rising cost of living crisis after just two years.
Eagles Nest Café in Eagley Sports Complex on Blackburn Road, Egerton, took to Facebook to share the news with its customers.
They have said that as a result of financial costs and “everything else spiralling out of their control” they can no longer continue.
The popular café will officially close on Friday, April 21 at 3pm.
In the post, they thanked all the “great staff” and “lovely” customers for their support and friendship.
They also encouraged those in the community to keep in touch as they look to supply cakes to those interested.
The post said: “It’s with great sadness that I have to announce the closing of the cafe at 3pm on Friday April 21 for good.
“With the current cost of living situation and everything else spiralling out of my control it’s become unfeasible for me to continue.
“I would like to thank all my great staff and lovely customers for all your support, following and friendship.
“Please keep in touch and I will still be supplying cakes if anyone needs any.”
The comment section was flooded with love and support from some long-time customers.
One Facebook user expressed her upset at the closure and praised the resilience of those at the café.
They said: “Aww how sad, it’s such a shame after all you’ve put in.
“It’s perfectly understandable though.
“Food stuff is just ridiculously expensive, isn’t it?
“Good luck for the future.”
Another user also shared how sad the news was, stating that it was their place to go for “great” staff and “delicious”.
They said: “So sorry to hear this. Eagles Nest Cafe has been our go to place for great staff and delicious food.
“We are so very sad to see you close but we wish you all the very best for the future.
“A sad loss for Eagley.”
