Two Bolton workers are celebrating their 25 year anniversaries at a leading supermarket.
Steve Mottershead, a section leader at Aldi’s regional distribution centre (RDC) in Bolton, and Rob Knapman, a night sectionleader of the transport department, both joined the supermarket back in 1998.
Steve started as a produce selector before progressing to section leader in 2002, while Rob has had several roles with the business since joining, including warehouse picker and transport night driver.
From taking part in fundraising events for Aldi’s dedicated charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, to supporting fellow colleagues, both Steve and Rob are said to be an integral part of Aldi’s Bolton team.
Steve said: “Watching the business grow and develop over the years has been incredible.
“One thing that has remained unchanged throughout this is that I’ve always been part of an amazing team, and I have made some amazing friends along the way.”
Rob added: “When I first started driving for Aldi we could fit five store deliveries into one lorry, now we need to send numerous throughout the night.
“My favourite thing about working at the supermarket is that there are so many opportunities available to progress, and the team around you are always your biggest supporters.”
Ruth Doyle, Regional Managing Director at Aldi UK, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to all of our colleagues and take great pride in celebrating their achievements.
“Colleagues like Rob and Steve have played a key part in our growth and success, and I would like to thank them for their contributions.
“Our colleagues allow us to connect with wider communities and continue to provide the high-quality service that customers keep coming back for.”
Aldi’s second UK RDC opened in Middleton in 1991, recently relocating to Bolton in 2016.
The hub, which opened on the former Cutacre mining site at Logistics North in Over Hulton, saw 550 employees make the move across to Bolton.
