A new health focused café is set to reopen after two good friends recently bought it.
Adele Davidson from Little Lever and business partner Scott Lever from Astley Bridge decided to go into business together after “getting on like a house on fire” at Dynamics Gym in Radcliffe – which Scott used to own.
After being in the fitness industry for 25 years and always having an interest in healthy food and home-cooked food, Adele says she knew it was the next move to open Love Food.
She said: “We are aiming this at people in the fitness industry because we are fitness buffs.
“I have been in the fitness industry for 25 years, and still do it freelance for a number of different gyms but won’t do as many with this business.
“We got on like a house on fire when we met at Dynamics Gym and I said, ‘we need to run a fitness business together’.”
The café had been closed for a while until the pair bought it and has since been refurbished to give it a rustic look.
Adele previously went to a catering college when she left school, and she says that she has high hopes for it taking off with her and Scott’s connections.
She said: “We know so many people between us and no one else is doing what we are doing in the area in terms of it bringing proper health food to the cafe with food prep boxes.
“It’s going to go mental.
“I can’t wait because I think it will be the first of many.
“Once this one is up and running, we will look at opening another one.”
The café will provide a range of different healthy options, including protein boxes where customers can bring a list of what they want to include; salads; baguettes with hot chicken, hot steak or halloumi; pulled beef; and protein shakes.
There will also be cakes and sweet potato wedges to choose from too so there is something for everyone.
Adele says that there will still be something more traditional for those popping in for breakfast, including bacon and egg barms, vegetarian sausages and much more.
All of the food is freshly prepared and will be air fried, except for steak and eggs.
Love Food will officially open on Monday April 17 on 309 Tonge Moor Road from 8am.
