A woman has died, police have confirmed after they were called to a concern for welfare report.
Officers were called to Duchy Avenue in Over Hulton this morning.
Police confirmed a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after 10:15am today (Thursday 6 March) GMP were called to reports of concern for welfare of a woman on Duchy Avenue, Bolton.
“A woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding this.”
One witness described seeing a police tent near the fishing pond on Duchy Avenue off Plodder Lane.
They said: "I saw a white tent-like fence in situ to stop the houses seeing behind it and two officers on scene.
"Normally there are people fishing at that time but there wasn’t anyone else at the pond or near the field. The roads were open as normal."
Another witness said they saw police officers, HM Coroner’s Team and an ambulance on scene.
