A warning has been issued after children were caught on camera on the roof of a primary school.
Two boys were caught on CCTV clambering on the roof of All Saints Primary School on Devon Road, Farnworth.
It is the latest incident in which children have put themselves in danger by climbing on the school roof, with up four boys seen recently.
School bosses have warned that behaviour like this can prove to be extremely dangerous, most of all to the children themselves.
Headteacher Katie Hague said: “Really I just want to have a conversation with the parents about what their children are doing.
“Because it really goes through me, the thought about what would happen if they went through that roof.”
Mrs Hague explained that the children could potentially have become stuck in the area below if they had fallen through.
She said: “Kids often don’t have the awareness of consequences that adults would and so it really is about speaking to the parents and making them aware.
“We had a bit of this about 18 months ago and in that case I was able to meet with the parents, have a conservation with them and they’ve not been back since so it really does make a difference.”
All Saints Primary School is a popular school in the Farnworth community and received a Pearson Award, known as the "Oscar of the teaching world", for its commitment to children during lockdown.
Concern for children's wellbeing has now prompted Mrs Hague and her staff to appeal for help in ensuring no one puts themselves at risk on the roof.
The images supplied by the school show two boys climbing onto the roof, one of them dressed in a grey tracksuit and the other in a longer dark coloured coat.
Mrs Hague says one of the boys has been identified and is appealing for anyone who may be able to help them identify the other boy or who has any other information to come forward.
She also hopes to identify the other children not caught on camera again so that in each case she can speak to the parents and impress on them how dangerous their actions could have been.
Other community figures in Farnworth have also encouraged people to come forward and to ensure that youngsters are not putting themselves at risk.
Cllr Nadeem Ayub, who represents the area on Bolton Council, said: “It’s really important that we teach young people the importance of being careful and respecting school property.

“We need to make sure that we all know where our children are and that we know that when they are with their friends they know not to behave in a manner like this.”
He added: “Public safety, especially for young people, is really important and I hope that anyone who may know anything about this will come forward and help All Saints Primary identify these boys and warn them about the danger they could be putting themselves in.
“It’s also really important that we don’t allow things like this to set a negative example for other children.”
