A Bolton youth homelessness charity is inviting residents to take part in a 59ft abseiling challenge to raise money for the cause.
Backup North West, a charity supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the town, have for 30 years supported at-risk young people.
They have offered varying levels of accommodation and additional services such as mental health support, relationship advice, educational help and much more.
And on April 15, they are hosting an abseiling event to raise money for the charity, giving brave participants a rare opportunity to descend the 59ft drop from the east side of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
Anyone aged eight to 80 can participate at this fun-filled day for all, with refreshments and music alongside.
Maura Jackson, CEO of Backup North West, said: “I’m so glad to see people are taking part in this as I was afraid I’d be expected to do it!
“I hope that people can feel huge pride in stepping out of their comfort zones and raising money for a great cause.
“Every penny used will be spent on accessing training and qualifications for young people who are homeless to support their futures.”
A spokesperson for the charity said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to try this new and exciting adrenaline-filled experience, all the while raising vital funds to support the young people of Bolton.
“To sign up simply scan the QR code at the bottom of the flyer to access the booking site and start your adventure today.
“Spaces are limited so act quickly to ensure you don’t miss out!”
The abseil will take place between 9.30am to 12.30pm and once people have booked, they will be provided with an allocated slot.
To take part, participants must be 110kg or 17 stone and under.
Registration will cost £25 for under 18s and £30 for 18 and over with a suggested £200 sponsorship.
