Residents on a major road in Bolton have received a warning regarding resurfacing and drainage works which will mean cars need to be moved.

People parking on Chorley New Road are being advised to take care from Monday, April 3 when work starts, which will require the road to be clear of any vehicles parked.

The work will take place between Crown Lane and Victoria Lane for six weeks.

At times, roads nearby may be closed so that work can be completed but residents will receive due notice.

A spokesman from the council said: “During the works can residents please keep Chorley New Road clear of vehicles during the working day to enable works to be undertaken.

The Bolton News:

“The council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to local residents and road users, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.

“Your patience would be appreciated during this time.”

Those with waste and recycling bins on a closed street or road are advised to move this to an accessible location so that it can still be collected.

The council has also reminded the general public regarding the dangers of work sites and urge caution during this time.
