A road has just reopened this evening after a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Emergency services were called to Moss Bank Way and the air ambulance was scrambled.
The casualty was airlifted to hospital.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said at the time : "GMP received a call at approximately 3.35pm today, Friday 17 March 2023, to reports of a road traffic collision on Moss Bank Way, Astley Bridge in Bolton, between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

"Colleagues from NWAS, GMFRS and Helimed attended, airlifting a casualty to hospital.
"Moss Bank Way is closed in both directions up to Blackburn Road and Broad'o'th Lane whilst investigations are ongoing."
The latest from traffic information site INRIX states: "A58 Moss Bank Way Eastbound closed due to accident between Thorns Close and Asda. Sensors are showing that the westbound direction has re-opened."
