Police officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a Bolton school.
Officers arrived at Little Lever High School during Thursday afternoon amid reports of a disturbance somewhere on the school premises.
Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed that officers were on the scene but that no one was arrested and no weapons or dangerous items were involved.
A spokesperson said: “There was no weapons involved.
“GMP were called to reports of a disturbance, no one was arrested.”
Parents at the school had reported that some kind of disturbance had occurred over the course of Thursday afternoon.
According to parents, pupils had been confined to their classrooms for part of the afternoon while officers dealt with the incident in another part of the school.
No one was harmed and the disturbance concluded relatively quickly on Thursday afternoon with no further issues reported at the scene for the rest of the day.
The school has been approached for a comment.
Ward councillor Sean Hornby said: "I cannot go into details of the incident, however, no one was in danger and because of the strikes there was only one class in.
"I am pleased the way the school handled the disturbance. I have had a full briefing from children's services about the incident and and am happy with the way it was dealt with."
