Three roads will be closed across the borough towards the end of this month for vital manhole repair works.
Rawson Street in Farnworth will be closed today. (Friday)
Between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm, the closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Rawson Street from Bridge Street to Lower Rawson Street to allow for manhole repairs.
An alternate route for traffic will be via Presto street, Darley Street, Railway Street and Darley Avenue.
Mottram Street in Horwich will be closed for approximately one day whilst engineers work to repair manholes.
On March 22 between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm, the road closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Mottram Street from Summer Street to Yarrow Grove, to allow works to take place.
An alternate route for traffic will be via Chorley New Road and Chorley Old Road.
Finally, Kentfield Drive will be closed on March 31 for approximately one day for repair works.
Between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm, traffic will be prohibited from proceeding on Kentfield Road from Rayon Close for a distance of 100m in a southerly direction, to enable manhole repair works to take place.
To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, council officials are asking residents to present them at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied on the usual collection days.
Council officials say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
