TOWN councillors will be taking part in The BIG Bolton Health Check and are encouraging more people to get involved.
Cllr Steve Rock, Leader of Horwich Town Council, will be taking advantage of the tests that identify those at risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
The health check, which takes just ten minutes, is available to anyone aged over 45 and aims to test 46,000 people over the next 10 months.
Cllr Rock said: "I and other councillors will be going along to the launch and I hope to see lots of people from Horwich being tested as well."
Health bosses estimate 10,000 people in the borough are "walking time-bombs" because they are at risk of developing heart disease within the next 10 years.
The BIG Bolton Health Check launch will take place at 9.30am on June 20 in the Festival Hall, Bolton.
There will be a marquee in the square from 10am to 6pm where trainers will carry out the tests.
