An off-road bike was seized today as police crackdown on scramblers causing a nuisance in Bolton..

Police in Bolton have teamed up with the specialist Off-Road Bike Unit and responding to residents' concerns, a bike was seized this afternoon after riding on Longsight Park in Harwood.

A spokesman for GMP Bolton North said: "Thanks to local residents information, the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have managed to secure working with Greater Manchester Police's Off Road Bike unit to try and tackle the issues around our area with off road bikes.

"Today officers have seized the below bike that was being ridden around the area of Longsight Park."

It is the latest bike to be seized in Bolton.

Earlier this year a senior Bolton police boss has warned that officers have the power to confiscate off-road bikes if riders are causing a nuisance.

Detective Sergeant Craig Walker said catching the riders was intelligence led and that residents needed to report any anti-social incidents caused by the bikers as and when it happened.

There have been a number of reports in Bolton from Over Hulton to Little Lever of off-road bikers blighting the quality of life enjoyed by residents, as well as riding illegally.
