A large group of travellers have moved on to a car park in Astley Bridge.
They were spotted by nearby residents on The Valley car park where a restaurant used to be.
Around a dozen caravans have set up camp at the back of car park on one side.
Now a ward councillor said he will speak to town hall bosses to have them removed.
One resident noticed the caravans at around 9.30am today whilst they were on their way to work.

Ward councillor Cllr John Walsh said that he will now be in touch with Bolton Council to have the travellers removed since they are “parked illegally”.
He said that when travellers are camped illegally there is a process that is usually followed by the council to remove them.
Cllr Walsh said: “There is a process if travellers are parked illegally, which in this case they are.
“This process is usually done pretty quickly.
“The town hall will be made aware of it, and we will begin the process of removing them.”
It is not the first time that this has happened, in October last year tree caravans moved on to a derelict site on the former Bolton Parish Church Primary School off Bury New Road, in The Haulgh.
Travellers also set up on the Bolton at Home Valley House site in Waters Meeting Road, off Blackburn Road, taking over a significant section of the site’s car park.
At the time Bolton at Home said they were aware about the situation and commenced legal action to move the travellers off their site.
