A man and a teenager have been arrested in connection with separate burglaries in the early hours of the morning in Bolton.
Police arrived on the scene just after 2am this morning (Saturday March 11) along with the tactical dog unit after reports of a burglary at a supermarket on Trinity Steet.
A 41-year-old man was arrested shortly after on suspicion of burglary.
A spokesperson for GMP Bolton South said: “Two males have been arrested following separate burglaries overnight in the Bolton area.
“Just after 2am this morning (Saturday March 11), officers from relief response unit and the tactical dog unit attended reports of a burglary at a supermarket on Trinity Street in the town centre.”
Officers then attended Beech Avenue, Little Lever just after 3am following reports of a burglary, where a vehicle has been stolen.
A 14-year-old was later arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle following the recovery of the vehicle.
A spokesperson for GMP Bolton South said: “Just after 3am, officers then attended reports of a burglary at a house on Beech Avenue in Little Lever, where a vehicle had been stolen.
“A short time later, the vehicle was recovered, and a 14-year-old male arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.”
Both men remain in police custody for questioning.
It comes as police continue to crack down on burglaries after creating The Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team in May last year.
Officers have long identified Bolton as a hotspot for this type of offending.
