Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have been charged with gross negligence manslaughter tonight, Thursday, March 2.

The Crown Prosecution Service said the aristocrat and her partner were also accused of concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice.

The Met said a post-mortem examination would take place on Friday.

More than 200 officers and specialist search teams scoured the area around Stanmer Villas where the couple were finally caught after a tip-off from a member of the public.

They were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and later on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after avoiding police for more than seven weeks but were without their child.

Marten and Gordon had been travelling around the UK by taxi since their car was found burning on the M61 in Bolton on January 5.

Authorities previously believed the couple had been sleeping rough in a blue tent, and had avoided being traced by the police by moving around frequently and keeping their faces covered in CCTV images.
