Emergency services called to a street in Deane after a car caught fire this afternoon, Tuesday, February 28.
The origin of the fire is yet to be determined, and no one was injured in the incident, which a crew from Bolton Central Fire Station was called to at 2.52pm today.
The car was ablaze on Glen Avenue, just off Wigan Road, close to Haslam Park Primary School.
“We were there for about 45 minutes,” said Firefighter Stephen Burke. “We used a hose reel and breaking in equipment to get into the bonnet and the boot.

“It had caught fire next to a wooden fence which then caught fire too. We had to put that out before it spread any further.”
The road was closed for the duration of the incident, with the fire engine blocking on end of the street, and Greater Manchester Police turning people away from the other.
