A Bury hairdresser who goes "above and beyond" has been shortlisted for two national awards.

After going self-employed four years ago, Nicole joined GlowUp on Colville Dr and has now been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

She said: “I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser and it’s all I’ve ever done since I finished school at 17.

“I never once imagined I would be up for an award or ever have the confidence to put myself forward like that so this has been a real shock but I am so proud of myself.

“I feel like this is just the beginning of what’s to come for my career.”
