Christine McGuinness has shared some good news with fans on Instagram after helping a young girl who was worried about dressing up for World Book Day.
The model, who split with Paddy McGuinness last year, has shared an emotional video via Instagram after a parent requested an early copy of her new children's book for her autistic daughter.
Recently diagnosed with autism along with her three children, Christine's book, ‘Amazing Me Amazing You’, which will be released on March 2, aims to celebrate what makes each and every child amazing.
Christine, who is an autism ambassador, said that it can be hard for children with autism to dress up for World Book Day.
She added that the feel of certain fabrics used for dress-up clothes can be just one of the difficulties for autistic children.
By sending an early copy of her book, she hopes the young girl can dress as herself for World Book Day and be comfortable in her own clothes.
She said: “I just had a parent contact me to say that her autistic daughter does struggle with sensory issues and doesn't want to dress up for World Book Day.
“Sometimes for autistic children seeing people dressed as characters can be quite confusing.
“She just asked if there's any way, she can get hold of my book before it comes out so her daughter can go dressed as herself.”
Christine shared how the message gave her a ‘warm fuzzy feeling’ via her Instagram, adding that the request had made her quite emotional.
She said: “This is why I wrote the book because everyone should just be able to be themselves.
