A kitchen fire broke out at a home in Radcliffe this morning, Thursday.

Three fire engines from Whitefield and Farnworth fire stations were called just before 4.30am to a property on Masefield Road.

The fire was extinguished before crews arrived and firefighters removed the burnt items and installed two smoke alarms in the property.

They were at the scene for around 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 4.30am this morning, Thursday, three fire engines from Whitefield and Farnworth fire station were called to reports of a building fire involving a property on Masefield Road, Radcliffe.

“Crews arrived quickly at scene.

"The fire was extinguished before Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene.

“Firefighters worked to make the property safe by removing the burnt items, carrying out safety checks of the property and installing two smoke alarms.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around 30 minutes.”
