The team from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Bolton has joined forces with colleagues in Manchester to make a special warm-hearted delivery to children at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
The Amazon teams from Bolton and Manchester arrived at the hospital to deliver a donation of toys and books to children who have been staying on the oncology ward over the festive period.
Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity also received a donation of £3,000 last year from the Amazon fulfilment centres in Bolton, Manchester, and Warrington during Amazon Goes Gold, the company’s annual campaign to raise awareness for childhood cancer.
Speaking on the latest donation, John Strydom, general manager at Amazon in Bolton, said: “We are very pleased we could expand our partnership with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
“Following our support of the charity during Amazon Goes Gold, we had the opportunity to learn more about how the hospital cares for children and we discussed other ways we could support them.”
Conor Leavy, who works at the fulfilment centre in Bolton, added: “I’m glad that we’re supporting the oncology ward at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital once again. We hope that the children enjoy the toys and books, and it helps provide some entertainment during their stay in hospital.”
