A 10-year-old boy in Bolton has been praised for his community spirit
Ethan Welsby-Cavenay from Breightmet takes out his neighbours' bins on four streets on his estate each week.
Ethan, who is a student at Leverhulme Primary School, has been ‘obsessed with bin men’ since he was little according to his parents.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, he takes the general waste and recycling bins out on Dorchester Avenue, Barchester Avenue, Rochester Avenue and part of Greenroyd Avenue.
Then when he gets back from school, he takes all of them back in.

Ethan’s father, Mark Cavenay, aged 59, said: “Every Wednesday night he takes everybody’s bins out.
“Then on Thursday morning when the recycling turns up, he takes bins to the wagon for the men to put on.
“The bin men really get on with him, they have said he’s doing well.”
He continued: “Ethan started doing it for us and our neighbour, Mrs Adams, then started doing it for the rest of our neighbours. They treat him every now and then.
“When he leaves school he wants to be a bin man, he’s been obsessed with bin men since he was little.”

Ethan started to become obsessed with the subject when he was around three years old, according to Mark.
He told of Ethan’s routine, saying: “Every Thursday morning he’s up at 6.30am getting his uniform on and he’s out at 7am.
“We just wanted to see him being happy. It makes us so proud, him being happy.”
Ethan’s mum, Gillian Welsby, aged 40, said: “The six-year-old boy from next door when Ethan’s taking the bins back into the gardens, he tries to help him.
“He has a couple of school friends who help him sometimes.”
Ethan said: “I feel helpful and happy that I make other people smile and (I feel) happy with my own work.”

Breighmet councillor Adele Warren recognised him for his work last July with a plaque.
She got local binmen to present him with the plaque, which read 'Breightmet Community Star' and Ethan got to sit in a bin lorry.
Cllr Warren said: “He is really, really sweet, such a lovely little boy.
“He’s such a little superstar, he’s so nice.
“He’s expanding his area as he’s getting older, he’s going a little bit further up the road.”
