A Bolton woman has set up an empowerment circle group for women hoping to offer support at the same time as linking women to the best in business.
Sarah Hulme, 52, from Lostock, is setting up a female empowerment circle group to help borough business ladies at the same time as putting a spin on the usual business event.
Having worked in a networking group franchise before, Sarah now wants to implement the skills and experience she has, welcoming all women across the borough to get involved.
Sarah said: “Quite a few years ago I was involved in a networking group that was a franchise model and I ran a franchise model in Manchester and I loved it at the time but the lady that owned the franchise changed the goal post and I thought this is not really the route that I want to go down so I resigned from it and I’ve not done anything like that for quite a few years now.

“But over the last few months I’ve wanted to create something for ladies in Bolton because what I find with business networking is it is generally always just for business ladies, ladies that are in business and everybody has a business, and everybody wants to promote their own business.
“And I wanted to do something different and for Bolton that was like an empowerment circle that was really low cost that anybody could come along to, whether they were in business, whether they were starting, thinking about going into business or really whether they just wanted a coffee and an hour of sitting with a group of ladies that could really kind of lift them up.
“But at the same time I wanted to do it in Bolton because it is my home town, do it in a venue in Bolton so that I could hopefully drive some business for them too, so I have picked Retreat on Chorley Old Road.”
Sarah said the idea behind the business is to spend one hour a month together discussing the hot topics of the month and partnering with charities who can also offer advice and support.
The empowerment circle motto is "empowered women empower women".
Sarah said: “So the idea is the ladies come in, they buy a coffee as a way of giving back to the venue and then literally having a charity angle so partnering with a local Bolton charity.

“It will be an hour on a Thursday to just empower the ladies of Bolton.
“I wanted to make it different because a lot of the networking events I have been to are very much business to business, everybody is out to get business and I always feel that there are those ladies that are maybe not in business and just want to have a chat and communicate and just be with a group of likeminded ladies.
“We will do it once a month with a five or ten minute educational slot about something that is current.”
The empowerment circle is open to female business owners and ladies that want to be empowered and inspired and leave armed with knowledge and value from the other ladies in the room.
The events will take place the first Thursday of every month priced at £5.
The first event will take place on Thursday March 2 from 12pm to 1.30pm and then the first Thursday every month.
