The crackdown on speeding drivers in an around Bolton is continuing today with officers currently conducting checks in Kearsley and Stoneclough.
Speed enforcement operations take place regularly in the borough, sometimes directly in response to complaints by residents.
Last month officers carried out speed enforcement exercises after it was one of the main issues raised by neighbours at the recent Police and Communities Together meeting.
The meeting was led by the Great Lever police neighbourhood team at the Slaterfield Community Centre.
During the meeting officers were also conducting an operation in the local area which resulted in a number of arrests.
Operation Portman has also been running Bolton and was launched launched in response to concerns over the number of serious road incidents in the town.
Hundreds of drivers have been reported for different alleged driving offences since the launch of the operation
To help them catch speeding drivers, officers have acquired two laser devices to record speeding vehicles.
Officers said that the operation has resulted in a huge reduction in serious injuries in Bolton.
