The Emergency Department at Royal Bolton Hospital has reopened after closing this morning, Saturday, due to a power outage.
A spokesperson for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that the Emergency Department reopened at around 1pm today and is now operating as normal.
Patients had previously been told not to come to the A&E department while repair works took place.
Writing on social media, the Trust said: “Our Emergency Department is back open and operating as normal.
“We would like to thank our partners for their support and the public for their patience as we worked quickly to resolve the power issue.”

A spokesperson for the hospital also warned patients on social media, writing: “PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT.”
The statement said that anyone requiring urgent or emergency care wouuld be temporarily redirected and it urged anyone in need of help to contact emergency care as they normally would.
It continued: “We are currently experiencing a power outage which has affected some areas of our hospital, including the Emergency Department.
“Engineers are on site now urgently addressing the problem and we hope to have resolved the issue as soon as possible.

“Whilst we work hard to reinstate power and return to normal business, we are treating all patients currently in our emergency department in other areas of the hospital.
“Any people requiring urgent or emergency care will be temporarily redirected. Please contact emergency services as you normally would and you be directed to the most appropriate place to receive care.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this situation.”
