The headteacher as a primary school in Ladybridge has expressed her pride at a “very positive” Ofsted report.
The education watchdog visited St Bernard’s RC Primary School on Wendover Drive in November last year.
His Majesty's Inspector (HMI) Sarah Barraclough labelled the school as ‘good’.
She found a “kind, caring” environment which pupils enjoyed coming to.
She added: “Every morning teachers greet pupils, parents and carers with a smile.

“Pupils feel happy and safe. They enjoy coming to school and look forward to what they are going to learn.”
Headteacher at St Bernard’s Clare Doodson, who is now in her 19th year in the role, says she’s “thrilled” by the findings.
“This Ofsted report truly captures the wonderful children we have here and the fantastic staff and governors,” she added.
“It’s a good, strong, very positive report that we’re delighted with. We’re delighted the good result yet again.
“We had a lovely HMI who came who conducted the inspection in a very professional and personable way that was supportive to the school and recognised the achievements and progress that we’ve made.”

The inspector also found that leaders have high expectations for their pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
“Pupils try their best and enjoy knowing that they are learning lots,” she said. “They appreciate the many trips and experiences on offer to them, which enhance their learning.”
She also noted that pupils “live up to leaders’ expectations for their behaviour”.
Mrs Doodson said: “We’re very proud of the report and our children and certainly from my perspective as the head, I have an extremely hard-working and dedicated staff. It doesn’t happen without that.
“And our lovely parents couldn’t wait speak to the inspector. They were so supportive and on the parent’s survey - we had an excellent return on that.

“We’ve had some lovely, positive feedback from parents who agreed that it’s a true reflection of our school and what St Bernard’s is about.”
Mrs Doodson also echoed the reports findings that governors know the school well.
“They do,” she said. “We have a very established governing board who are very supportive.”
