Bolton Unison's annual meeting next month will be extra special.
For it will celebrate the trade union branch's 30th anniversary
The Bolton local government branch of Britain’s largest trade union, Unison which represents workers across public services, will celebrate the anniversary at a lunch time member meeting being held on Wednesday, March 8.
Acting Branch Secretary, Jayne Clarke said:“All Bolton Unison members are being invited to our AGM on Wednesday 8th March. With energy bills and other essential living costs rocketing many of our members are really struggling and we need our union more than ever. Our lunchtime meeting at Bolton Town Hall will be a chance to celebrate and reflect but it will also be an opportunity to build and organise for the future”.
Before UNISON was founded, Jayne Clarke was a member of Bolton Nalgo and took an active part in in Bolton’s long running Nursery Nurse strike in 1984. Jayne is set to retire following the UNISON meeting in March.
