Homeowners have been given the green light to extend their property - despite objections from residents.
Proposals were put forward relating to a two storey semi-detatched property on Leyton Close.
The plans were for a garage to be removed to make way for the extension making the home five-bedroomed.
The addition to the building would be above 11 metres in length on the ground floor and just under 10 metres on the first floor.
Planning officers said it would “not unduly harm the character and appearance of the dwelling or the surrounding area, and would not unduly harm the amenity of any neighbouring resident.”
They recommended that the planning committee approve the measure.

But councillor Sue Haworth read out objections on behalf of residents unable to attend at the the planning committee.
She said: “Please could I ask that the planning committee today consider the concerns of residents about overbearance in size and overbearance in scale and also parking matters at the property.
“Size and scale is a real concern for residents regarding this plot.
“They have struggled to get across how the lived experience would be for them.
“There is still a persistent argument from them that a car parking space will be lost with garage demolition.
“They think if there is a five bedroom property how will it have two parking spaces, will this be enough and not cause more congestion because this is a cul de sac.”
Champak Mistry, a councillor on the committee, said he would recommend approving the plans.
"What the councillor has said about the application is totally different to what the officers have said.
"I myself have been round.
"There are quite a few houses that have changed.
"The estate itself is made up of different houses and different characters.
"Having looked at the arguments, all the policies have been met, I will make a recommendation to approve this application."
The plans were approved by the committee.
