Food hygiene inspectors have rated four eateries in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have given two eateries a four-out-of-five rating, one eatery a two-out-of-five rating and one eatery a one-out-of-five rating.

Two eateries were handed four-out-of-five food hygiene ratings, these include Mash's Wing Ranch at 259-261 Derby Street, which was rated on December 28 and Gonzales at 48 Albert Road, Farnworth, which was also rated on December 28.

In both takeaway’s inspection reports it states the hygienic food handling and management of food safety were both good for both eateries and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was generally satisfactory for both eateries.

The cleanliness and condition of facilities and buildings look at if the eatery has appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene.

Royal Hotel at 53 Vernon Street, has also recently been awarded a food hygiene rating after inspection on December 28.

The eatery was handed a two-out-of-five rating.

The inspection report states improvement is necessary in both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building whilst the management of food safety was generally satisfactory.

Finally, Royal Chicken Grill at 134 Bradshawgate, was rated a one-out-of-five after inspection on December 28.

In the inspection report, improvement is necessary for both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building whilst major improvement is necessary for the management of food safety.

The management of food safety within the inspection report looks at the system or checks that are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
