A busy road was reported to have been closed following a crash between two cars last night in Lostock.
Police officers were on the scene at Chorley New Road close to the junction with Regent Road.
Rai Hirst, who did not witness the collision but was present during the after math, described both cars as “totalled”.
He added: “Airbags were deployed on both cars and the road was shut for a short time to allow for recovery.

“The police were controlling the traffic as it was blocked one side. Once recovery arrived, they had to block the road completely.
Rai was at the front of the queuing traffic where he saw one car being mounted onto a recovery vehicle. He described the other car as having "significant front-end damage".
He added: “I just hope no one was hurt. Cars can be replaced, lives can't.”

Rai says that, whilst he was there, no ambulances were present.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson says that they only provide statements for serious or fatal collisions when notification is received from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
No notification was received for this incident.
