A family is still suffering from a rat infestation despite attempts to resolve the issuelast year.
Father-of-three Gareth Jennings lives at his Bolton at Home property in Farnworth with his wife, daughter, and two sons.
In November last year The Bolton News reported that the family has to deal with an invasion of rats every year which runing between the floorboards and in the walls.
Bolton at Home visited Mr Jennings’ home in a bid to rectify the issue, but it seems that the work they carried out only temporarily dealt with the rat problem.
Now the rats are not only taking up residence in the family’s walls, but they are managing to escape into the living areas too.

Mr Jennings said: “It’s definitely worse than before.”
“It’s affecting our mental and physical health - we have all been ill and it’s the smell of the rats.
“I have had to pull my sons bed down because they were under there chewing everything and eating his curtains and now this in my daughter’s bedroom.
"The smell was horrendous.”
Mr Jennings says that he has contacted Bolton at Home “loads of times” about the issue at his home in Parkfield Avenue,
“They came and put bait down in next door’s house and told her our lofts were infested with them and didn’t even bother come to mine.

“The children are terrified. My son is disabled, and we have a 10-month-old baby in the house.
“I have tried everything to try stop the rats myself even filled some of the holes and they just chew back through at a different location.
“I have put traps down and baited and nothing is working.”
Mr Jennings has a simple message to the Bolton at Home. “Either sort it or move me. It’s disgusting,” he said.
Richard Hargreaves, Bolton at Home’s group director of property maintenance, said: “We’ve been made aware of further issues with rats gaining access to Mr Jennings’ home.
“Our pest control contractor is dealing with a similar issue locally and we’re asking them to extend their investigation to cover Mr Jennings’ home.
“The investigation will advise us on action that needs to be taken.”
