One person has been left in a critical condition after a serious crash between three vehicles in Halliwell Road last night (Saturday).
The crash happened at 9.05pm and emergency services attended the scene, which was opposite the Lloyds Bank.
Three people were injured, with two sustaining minor injuries and one in a critical condition.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed one man has been arrested for causing serious injury by careless driving.
Part of Halliwell Road was closed until early Sunday morning whilst police carried out investigation work however the road has since reopened.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 9pm on Saturday, January 28, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision between three vehicles on Halliwell Road, Bolton.
"A vehicle travelling along Halliwell Road towards Moss Bank Way is believed to have collided with a second vehicle turning onto Halliwell Road, and a third stationary, unoccupied vehicle.
"The driver of one vehicle involved remains in a critical condition in hospital, whilst two others believed to be passengers in another are described as having sustained minor injuries.
“As a result of initial enquiries, a man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
“He remains in police custody for questioning.
“Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident - or may have dashcam or doorbell footage - to please share it with GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
“You can do so by calling 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 3236 of January 28. You can also make a report via the website www.gmp.police.uk.
“Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A local newsagent said he heard there had been a serious accident however he didn’t see it actually happen.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed they were at the incident.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “Just after 9pm on Saturday, January 28, two fire engines from Bolton Central fire station along with the Technical Response Unit from Leigh were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Halliwell Road, Bolton.”
“The crews arrived quickly at scene.
“Firefighters used cutting equipment and stabilisation equipment to rescue two people from one of the vehicles, they were then taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
“One man from the second vehicle was treated at the scene by colleagues from Northwest Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital.”
“Firefighters were in attendance for around two hours.”
There has been some damage to a lamp post and path nearby to where the crash happened, but no damage has been done to the road.
North West Ambulance Service has been contacted for information.
