Miraculously everyone was able to walk away from this horrific crash.
Dramatic pictures show the devastating aftermath of the collision which happened at 9.30am involving two HGVs.
The crash resulted in M6 being closed last night from Northbound J16 onwards.
The crash took place outside Sandbach Services at around 9.30pm, and traffic was stopped as emergency services dealt with the crash.
North West Motorway Police said that everyone involved in the crash walked away from the vehicles.
Recovery agents had arrived on scene by 11pm.
North West Motorway Police posted a photograph of the crash which showed one HGV against the central reservation, its cab heavily mangled.

Behind that was another HGV, also being heavily mangled and spread across all four lanes of the motorway.
Police began to release trapped traffic between J16 and J17 at around 12.30am.
A spokesman for North West Motorway Police said: "Thankfully everyone walked away from the vehicles."
All traffic had been released by 3am, but the road remained closed.
The motorway reopened at 5.30am this morning.
